Play Poker Online
Here at PokerXL we keep track of the best places for Americans to play poker online.
Our top picks include the best sign up bonuses available when you click through our links.
The best strategy is to sign up and play for 'play money' just to get the feel of the site. Once you like a site review their money transfer options and see which ones are available in your locale.
Please remember that your freedom to play poker is in the hands of our politicians. Make your opinions heard at the ballot box wherever possible. Join the PPA today! |
| UNITED STATES PLAYERS |
On September 30th, 2006 Senator Bill Frist snuck a gambling prohibition bill into a completely unrelated anti-terror bill designed to protect our ports. This action, which is supported by an estimated 18% of the US population, makes it illegal for poker sites to operate in the US and makes it harder for Americans to play for real money. The bill does not actually make it illegal to play online, and weirdly provides complete exemptions for horse race betting and online lotteries. As a result of this political nonsense some poker sites have closed their doors to American players rather than deal with the hassle.
On 1/18/07 following the arrest of two executives, NETeller closed its doors to American gamblers, making it much harder to transfer money to and from a poker account. Other services are still available but are becoming increasingly anti-American.
PokerXL recommend that you show your distaste for this back door undemocratic politics at the ballot box. Consider joining the lobby group Poker Players Alliance and make your voice heard.
