Welcome webmasters to our prestigious awards section.  In order to recognize poker related web sites we at PokerXL.com have produced an awards section just for you.  Apply for a Royal Flush Award and we'll take a look at your web site and if it meets our strict criteria we will send you a beautiful Royal Flush Award to display on your site.

The PokerXL Royal Flush Awards

We currently offer four awards based on the quality of your web site.  Winning any award is not easy as we wish to honor only the finest web sites we see.  We believe that awards are meaningless unless they are won for something above and beyond normal.  Therefore many of the applicants will not receive any award at all.  For those sites that qualify here are the awards:

Bronze

The site is a high quality site with a cohesive look and feel.  There should be some interesting and unique content.  There should be something about the site that makes a person want to visit again.

Silver

Meeting all Bronze criteria and taking the site to the next level.  Generally the site would be a little larger and contain a lot of valuable and unique content.  The design should be outstanding with a consistent look and feel throughout the site.  The site should be a great balance of aesthetic considerations combined with great content.

Gold

Meeting all Silver criteria and taking the site to the next level.  A gold site needs to have a certain 'wow factor' to it.  If the site were a person it would be a rock star!  Amazing graphics, content, look and overall appeal.  This is the kind of site people bookmark and check regularly.  Very few sites meet this criteria.

Platinum

There are hardly any sites that will ever win this award.  In addition to all of the Gold criteria, this site sets an entirely new standard for all other sites to look up to.  A Platinum site changes the face of the web and contributes to society (or at least the world of poker).

Royal Turd Award: Crap

Sometimes we see a site that is just horrible.  If your site is total crap, unoriginal, ugly or otherwise contemptible you may receive this award along with a sarcastic review on our winners page!

Judging Criteria

Like most things in life judging is subjective.  One man's heaven is another man's hell and so on.  We don't divulge our exact criteria in any more detail than above, before, during or after judging your site.  We take a look around and based on our opinion of your site we send you an award (or not as the case may be).  Our decision is final and we will not be drawn into an argument about the merits of your site.

The Rules

Please take a minute to read these rules as submitting your site for evaluation indicates your acceptance of these rules which is in addition to our site terms and conditions.  Failure to read this section is the most likely reason for your site being disqualified.

• In order to apply you must be the webmaster of the site for which you are applying.  You cannot apply for an award for a site you do not own, run or work on.  Provided you have direct involvement in a site you may apply for an award.
• Your site should be in some way related to poker.  We are not especially interested in gambling sites that mention poker almost as an after thought.
• If you win an award you will display it with a link to our winner's page.  You will not modify the graphic in any way.  If you do not place the award on your site linked to our winners page within 14 days of winning, it will be assumed that you declined the award and your name will be removed from the list of winners.
• You accept that your site will be reviewed and that written review (good or bad) may be published on our web site.
• Your site must be complete and not under construction.
• Your site must have a domain name, e.g. PokerXL.com as opposed to www.geocities.com/mypokerpage.
• Your site must have unique content.  If you submit a site that is little more than a set of affiliate links, unoriginal content, or a bunch of banner ads your site will be rejected.
• Your site should be free from errors, pop-up ads or annoying features such a Comet Cursor, spyware, adware, malicious code, or anything else a typical internet user would deem annoying.
• Your site should work correctly on common browser configurations and screen resolutions.  If it looks bad on our system too bad, you lose out.
• You the applicant must be an adult over the age of 18.
• The site must be written in English.  Bad grammar, spelling, and poor punctuation will count against you.
• The site should not violate any copyright laws, the content should be your own or the source acknowledged.
• Sites containing illegal or inappropriate content will be rejected.
• It will take several weeks to review your web site.  If you do not hear from us within 90 days, you did not win an award. 
• You may apply for an award once every 90 days.  Therefore if you do not win an award you must wait 90 days to re-apply.  If you have already won an award and want an upgrade you should re-apply no sooner than 90 days after you applied for your previous award.
• This awards program is run at our sole discretion, we may modify or terminate this program or the rules of this program at any time without notification to winners or applicants.
